The Lutheran Seminary outside of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, was pressed into service as a field hospital by both Union and Confederate forces during the Battle of Gettysburg, July 1-3, 1863, the bloodiest three days in North American history. Now, as the Seminary Ridge Museum, it is one of Gettysburg's outstanding historical resources on the Civil War.
